Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Frodo on December 04, 2005, 11:24:14 PM i read in the sunday paper this morning of patrick stewart suppposedly getting £7 million to appear as captain picard in a new star trek film due out in 2007. couldn't find much info on the net since it isnt even in pre production yet but i found this...
star trek film (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050310b.php) seems a few people are keen on the idea of a prequel. hmm. i'd like to see a beginning of the federation and starfleet taking off from first contact so its vulcans galore lol what does everyone else want to see in a new star trek film? Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: teh-plaf on December 04, 2005, 11:28:48 PM frodo, that site said no characters from the star trek universe would be appearing, so how does picard fit in?
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Frodo on December 04, 2005, 11:36:53 PM i don't know do i! i'm telling u what i read in the paper, it was a tiny article saying he's getting £7mil to play picard again so whether that was true or not as i can't find anything to back it up on the net only that link i gave u
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Admiral Adama on December 04, 2005, 11:42:17 PM well if its enterprise itl be crap. a voyager would be better. or DS9. but please no more with the borg attack earth scenario
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Frodo on December 05, 2005, 12:16:21 AM aye the borg is boring now. something that isn't focused on 1 starship and its crew would be good
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Acidpunk on December 05, 2005, 12:37:30 AM what i want is a prequel about the rommie war a movie like that would be sick
something 3h long Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Frodo on December 05, 2005, 12:57:11 AM i agree 3hour films are better
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Casper on December 05, 2005, 01:39:27 AM totally

Point is he is gonna be in it so i guess it will be, TNG - Nemesis Era Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Frodo on December 05, 2005, 08:09:47 PM i'd prefer it if it was in that era than a prequel set years before everthing else, in that article in that link above there's something about not relying on special effects. what rubbish! the SFX is a big part of star trek in my opinion and with the SFX tech in movies it wud be awesome, all they need is a **** good story and 3 hours of film!
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Casper on December 06, 2005, 12:31:18 AM wasn't the romulan war fought with primitive robot ships, and nuclear weapons. how would there even be a crew?

Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Frodo on December 06, 2005, 01:38:01 AM lol u rise a good point there, am i the only person who found dorsal shields funny in nemesis
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Casper on December 06, 2005, 07:07:09 AM well, they can make a good story and the producers can go behind every ones back, and add SFX to the movie.
but, i would enjoy a good script, and special effects; the two aren't mutually exclusive you know Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: teh-plaf on December 06, 2005, 01:45:49 PM i agree, but good (and original) scripts from star trek have been far and few...
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: Casper on December 06, 2005, 10:15:31 PM i'd have to agree there
Title: New Star Trek Film Post by: hexer on December 18, 2005, 12:59:02 PM I would like one of thoses movies that jumps all over, and you get glimpses of 6 story lines or so, and it all makes sense when all the story lines come togeather in the end
