Title: Stopping The Npc's From Being Lazy Post by: T-Man on July 07, 2005, 09:24:57 AM I was wondering if any of the AI programmers among you knew how to make NPC forces fully active (i.e. attack players/build ships/replace lost stations etc). I remember seeing an AII map once that had two NPC's that worked, so i know it can be done.
Thanks ^_^ T-Man Title: Stopping The Npc's From Being Lazy Post by: Eufnoc on July 07, 2005, 02:20:47 PM set them to a team in map maker and then press ctrl+r sleect that team and where it says player/ computer / ai mission selecte ai mission.

It seems that you have to assign it a race or it crashes the map when you try to use it. My guess is it uses the race designation to select a techtree AI to follow. In other words an NPC cannot be active unless the NPC is one of the main races, as its only these races have AI techtree's to follow. Title: Stopping The Npc's From Being Lazy Post by: Optec on July 08, 2005, 03:48:52 PM there will be active np races in future FO versions, but that's something that requires large ammounts of time and therefore it is planed for v4 :)
