Title: Question On Typing Injuries

I was up till 3 AM for the past 2 weeks, doing essays, projects, etc. I had a good night's sleep in Saturday, and when I woke up to do some work -more typing of course-, a bone in my right arm started hurting. The pain originates between the wrist of my arm and the elbow, right in the middle. So far, I elevated my entire arm when I typed, so that my fingeres are lower than my arm, and the pain is better, but is there something wrong with me? has anyone else had this before? how long does this last? is it severe? Im kida scared....

Carpal tunnel syndrome, you pinchin a nerve or 2 there buddy, just take a rest from typing and using the mouse.

Well if you HAVE to use comp keep your rist elevated, put a small cushion or something under it.

Its either Carpal tunnel syndrome like Preator said, or it could be RSI (repetetive strain injury) which is quite common with PC users. It happens if you use the same muscle for the same thing again and again. Everything Preator said to do will also help cure RSI.

I actually got a mousepad with this squishy cushion thing on the end where your wrist lays. I don't need it anymore and if I could give to you I would. I suggest you go get yourself one, their pretty pimp.

Well, it might be the time when I thought I had HIV while I am still a virgin, I checked out the sympotoms for it for a sex ed assignment and got freaked out

To the guy who's scared: don't feel bad; even if you do have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, some people can get it at an early age. I have neck and back probelms and I'm only 15 too.

ditto, well all except the 15 i am 16 going on 17, hey i know lets suddenyl start telling him hes going to die! it will scare him it will be funney, we could even make him think its another std :P

well i'm glad to say i'm almost 18 and have no significant health problems, no back, head or neck pains.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I went to the doc, and he said that I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, I am seeing a specialist tomorrow to get my wrist scanned by Ultrasound.................................... Im only 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Anyways carpal tunnel is no big deal (but the doctor's visit was a good idea just to be safe) (tell your teachers that it is life threatening and you might get a few days extension on those projects)
