I've only seen First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis, but I've heard enough about Captain Kirk and seen enough crappy TOS on TV to vote for First Contact all the way.

fo real.. i loved the first 3 movies as well. but i was much younger and the effects are just totaly trash from this yrs point of view. the plot was really good in each one of them, but its nothin i could watch seriously now. i would start laughin at each effect.

inserection and generations... i never liked these 2 movies.. the story was bad.. and not much effects and everything... they were jus borin for me..
.oO( same for 4, 5, 6... )

nemesis had some good potential, but i think the storry n fights were way to short to turn it into a blockbuster. bad director or writer, i dunno whichones fault it was... but it could have been better.

so my vote goes to:
first contact.
the plot was good. i liked episodes with the borg involved... so theres not really a choice for me..
"im the beginning, and the end... the one whos many.." :borg: :borg: :borg: :borg: :borg:

.oO( i had that sentence as a windows sound when i shut down the comp over yrs :D )

Insurection
i think pecrade took a hit of exisy be for the movie Insurection shood be caled INeretion with pecard faling in-love awww makes me wont to criy.... ok i am over that. and data was on pot the hole time did not know androdes cood get hi untill i wached that movie.

Nemesis
had good speshal efects. but whay did thay go off and kill data i gess thay thot it whood bring in fanes to kill off one of the bigest stars. and whats the delo with the doon bugy and haw in god green earth did it jump in to a sutal craft i was exspeting it to keep going out the frunt of the shutal craft.

First Contact
that waas the best one i think so far untill i felt like ruing and thowe up in the back of the stage after that borg orgy, i still have nite mares of a borg qween coming to rape me in the midal of the nite.

Generations
prity bad. thay had to have the ncc 1701-d be kiled by a rusting old retiered klingon bard of pray. and thay thay brot back shatner as kerk how was having some sorta mid life crises in the nexsis and than kill him realy stup whay.

thay need a nuther block buster like ferst contact. wich was my vote.

Dude ... I mean, dude it's OK, she's gone, vaporized in plasma. Besides, you're not an android with the Enterprise security codes stored in your head, so I think you're pretty safe from Borg rapage.

Everyone remember the phrase, "I am looking for Nucular Wessels." I loved that.

1.) The Undiscovered Country: "Cry havoc! And let slip the dogs of war!" - A more than worthy finale for the TOS crew.
2.) First Contact: "The line must be drawn here. And I will make them PAY for what they've done!" - Great effects, nice dark atmosphere, and a magnificent performance by Patrick Stewart.
3.) the Wrath of Khan: "The ship... out of danger...?" - The first time they had acting on Star Trek. And the space battle is a classic.

About the others:
TMP: Argh! The acting! The UNIFORMS! BUT: the ship looked great and the story was probably the one that captured Star Trek's spirit the best.
TSFS: Bad overacting, a Christopher Lloyd was disappointing as Klingon and the whole movie seems a little badly thought out. Honorary mention for the first appearance of the Klingon BoP and the Excelsior!
TVH: Fun, but nothing special. Ah, yes, and "Nucular Wessels".
TFF: Dull, apart from Kirk, Spock & McCoy and some of the better jokes Trek had. "Row, row, row your boat..."
Gen: Space battle was bad, but Malcolm McDowell was great as Soran and I always at least watch the part with the Ent-B. "Don't tell me... Tuesday."
Ins.: Liked the self-irony of that one. And the bad guy was enjoyable, too.
Nemesis: Found it immensly boring to watch. Only positive point: the new Romulan warbirds. But I'd have preferred D'deridex class.

You dont know shakespere until youve experienced it in the original klingon.

TUC seemed to show drama as well as Klingon life.  It was also as Chekov said:
"So, this is goodbye."  Well said for the cast and crew of TOS.

Oh ya...I forgot about the DVDs. I've been trying to get the last season of TNG but it cost $100 and I'm a bit strapped for cash. Why do they have to make them so damn expensive!?

Title: Best Trek Movie
Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 28, 2005, 08:19:40 AM
They make them so expensive because they just came out, and they know more will buy them when they just come out. The price goes down later.

Maybe I'll find a deal on Ebay, they always have someting there.

You must account for the number of DVDs in the season package, too, but you might be right on one thing.  It is a simple matter of economics in respect to supply and demand.  Since it's all in high demand, the    price will be somewhat high, but when the demand is low, the price is low.

I love TMP actually. Not for the acting or the uniforms. I love it for the Sound-track and the visuals and the plot. The plot was excellent. Im an evolutionist and i see that film the enbodiment of what i believe. A computer obtaining so much knowledge it evolves into consciousness. I love the film. Also the V'ger visuals inspire much of my artwork. IT is the most artistic Star Trek film. And if you havent noticed i am very artistic. :D

I totally agree with you on TMP.  It was a good movie although I voted for TUC, but they're both good.  I saw the bonus footage on DVD, and it's interesting how TMP came into being.

Although I haven't really seen all of them, actually I've only seen one, I like Nemisis, even if it was the only mivie out of them all that I saw.  It had a great story line and great ship designs.  It was almost like seeing armada 2 come to life!!
