It's basicly the same, with new optec meant that it has been updated with more details

Yep, doca is right. it's the same model but with a few detail updates  ^_^  

But the turret model is new?

yep, the turrets have been redone. the exploding one is the ingame model of the new defence turret. the left one is the torpedo turret which is available for Admiral Mayson only. As it name indicates it is capable of firing quantum torpedos :)

All Wallpapers have been done with ingame-models only

Of course it's updated^^ I meant it was the same station.  ;)

Oh, and Baron/Drazer... could it be your both talking about 2 different fed starbase models? pic 1 shows a very new station model, while pic 3 shows a slightly redeigned model of the v2 starbase :P

To the Gods of the mod (Doca; Optec): You know a release date, even when it is not clear would be great or at least your ToDo list for release v3.  would be great, <script='SmoerScript' sarcasm(on='yes')> because otherwise you should thinking of changing the name from Fleet Operations to NeverEver operations :lol: </SCRIPT>

It's not being released. Fleet ops is propaganda used to keep us doing something other then what we would be normally. These forums are made to keep us in check until the day the machines take over (either thru the terminator or matrix scenarios). The game it self is full of subliminal messages telling us that resistance is futile. Hell, Optec, Doca and especially Detektor are AI from a supercomputer, seem real don't they?

you cant ask when its gona be reslesed what you can ask is haw much do you have left to do.

No, you can ask how much time is left, you just won't get an exact answer. Makes me mad when people say, "It will be done when it's done" because of course it's gonna be done when it's done, if it wasen't done we would say it's not done.

we do really work hard on it every day. we underestimated the stuff which is left to do but we come nearer to our final goal every day. pls be patient. It will be released as soon as we think it is done. the only thing i can say for sure is: it will be released this year  :rolleyes:

Why can't we just get an estimated release date. It doesn't have to be so exact. You all said it was supposed to be released a month from last november. Then you said it would be completed by the end of the year. Now its 2005 and no V.3. Can we have any videos or a release date or anything. I don't get why there is all this suspense.

Videos take time to make, time i doint want them to take. lol I dont see why we cant all just be patiant with them, shure its been a LONG time and i havnt been wiating as long as some of you, but shoot im given them money. lol i want it jsut as bad, but i understand that things like this take a LOT of time esspesialy if you have other things going on, things wicth are more importent.

We can't work as hard on Fleet Ops as people work which develop a game as there job. after all Fleet Operations is just a hobby and we have a real life (also it's becomming very small  ;)  ) too. i spent hours on the Fleet Ops development every day but you can't imagine how much work all the stuff takes. We have quite high standards - our standards are to make a game which looks "professional" and can compete with other professional games. Therefore we often include features, then remove them again after testing or complete rework features. That takes time, yep, but it is worth in the end.
And yep, a donation makes us happy. Every donation means much to us because that shows more then everything els that we are on to reach our goals. And happy people do always work faster then slaves  :P  But now i'm back on texturing the Canaveral. Cu soon

Just keep working Optec and rest of FO team. And make it perfect so that more fans come here  :D .  I will surely wait until final release.

Take your time, i'd rather have good mod then half assed mod a few months earlier. Although it shouldn't be hard work for a few supercomputers, guess we can't all have bio neural gel packs can we?

I'm just starting to play Fleet Operations.  It sure is much better than the original Armada II.  I must congratulate the FleetOps team for their hard work.  Good job!  I am so looking forward to beta 3 with THE DOMINION.

Welcome to the forums, yes were all proud of them too. Small correction, new version is Version 3.0 not Beta 3.0.

I agree, Fleet Ops is much better than Armada II. I wish that the develpors of Armada II had more pride in their work. Maybe the game would have come out better.

i think it whood be cool if the fleetops staff put out a the relece date as some time in 2005. that whay pepal cant say that did not give a relece date.

Ewm, easy. Some people arn't patient enough and others are too patient. You can't blame some for wanting the new installment of this great mod here, it certainly doesn't make them any less of a person.

Heres an idea, if someone asks when it will be done, we will give a date that we feel is reasonable and that will be it. Also, how could people asking for a release date on a mod make the fleet ops team feel unappreciated? Wouldn't it have the exact opposite effect?

if i were you id get DSL it is actualy better see cabel is drained by anny other innernet computers with cabel in your city

But in most cases cable is faster, unless you request a faster DSL, but then you can always get a faster cable.  

cable does slow slightly the more computers pluged into it but it is usalluy faster that equivanlty priced DSL
(especialy if cable company gives discounts to those who have cable tv for star trek observing)

Oh no I wasn't planning on getting it I was planning on using a computer that has cable internet and saving v3 to disk like i did v2 so that in the odd event i need a christmas present for someone... but yeah the school has t-1 so I am not worried

i would like to know why it is taking so long for the next update. I don't know about the rest of you, but i live for these updates.

I think their finishing up on the last bit of the Dominion, I mean they've showed us like every other ship the Dominion has. Thats means that the next update could very well be the finished product, at least thats what i'm hopeing.

i talked to optec some days ago an he said they only need to do 2 dom-ships.. and some last bit of bugfixing.. if i remember correctly.. and that sounds good to me and that its release date is gettin closer n closer.. :)

I persoannly don't care when they come out with it, just asolong as they were allowed to take their time and make a quality update, the first time round rather than patching something like a bajillion times

As I recall that wallpaper has been out for the better part of a year.  I fact, I cant find any additional progress whatsoever since my last visit.

Ive been wishing that too, but, alas, I could get the mod progress screen to come up, so Im not even sure if were close.

i think we are close the last time i could log in i got this:
