i was wondering what is one of the most favored ships in all of star trek mine is
the klingon batlecruser D-7a class batle cruser like the ones in startrekI
well people vote!

Norexan or Sovern here, I picked Norexan because it just looks neat.

1) Excelsior
2) Constitution Refit
3) K'Tinga

because they all look nice and not too high-tech.

by fare with out a dowt it is the galaxy no uther slip has come close to it.

its streem lined. and the colored engens are perfict.

Negh'Var, what else?

well the negvar is nice but it is no mach for a norexan.the warbird was a perfect ship for the romulans to combat the klingons but it was slow the norexan is faster stronger and smaller macking it a more efficant ship then the neg'var.

norexan looks bad in my opinon i cood come up with a beter looking ship in my sleep. you D'deridex class Warbird looks some much beter if it has to be romulin.

I like both designs, although the D'deridex design is large and wasteful of space, the Norexan is streamlines and uses alot of new technology.

Sovvy cause it's just plain mean looking, fast as hell and cuz there is a sovvy bearing the name Enterprise..the Connie refit..cuz the original Enterprise is my first love..and will always be. The Defiant..because "'tis a nasty beasty that one."

My negh'var will beat the romulan nobbiness out of it any day when you get hit with 20 mark 12 disruptors, 4 photon torpedo spreads and a volley of Mark 18 disruptor pulses id like to see how much of your precious norexan there is left... :badgrin:

Don't think a Negh'var is all powerful K'vort, that thinking will surely get you in trouble.

The Negh'Var might not be all powerful...but those Mark 18 Pulse disruptors are supposed to be the most devastating weapons ever created..and having three of them coming at you would make anyone quiver....Remember the first DS9 episode with Worf? "The Way of the Warrior"? Martok's ship launches a barrage of pulse disruptor fire at the station and takes out two of the shield generators in one volley.  

I saw but I don't think those werent mean to shoot ships, thats the problem.

In my opinion the Sovereign is the most beautiful ship ever seen in star trek, and the flagship of Humanity no less! It doesn't hurt that it has one hell of a torpedo capability too : )

I'm going to speculate that the mark 18s on a neghvar are for planetary bombardment, or maybe to target extremely large ships that don't have ecm or aren't maneuvering. Still the dozen mark 12s or however many there are would be a beast to send a destroyer squadron against.

I don't know about the six torpedo tubes, I never saw any fired in nemesis but I may have missed it. And the shields are far too strong compared to the Sovereign. But otherwise it looks right, about half the beam power of a neghvar but significantly better protected.

Well, the best ship in my opinion has to be the Intrepid. It's sleek, fast and a survivor. And then i'm not talking about the Voyager episodes. I'm talking about the time I sent 5 damaged intrepid ships into a fully armed Borg base. And they took out half the base before they where stopped. Since then, i've loved that ship.

Oh you mean in game? Intrepid is a scout/interceptor kind of ship. It can hold it's own but i'd rather have something ment for battle, just me tho.

okay fine lets stop the norexan/neghvar debat before i get ugly.

Negh'var has power and Norexan speed and mobility, there their equal. It's ended.

Intrepids are definitely scout and support ships for real combat ships like Akiras and Nebulas. Why do you think they are so fast? (So they can run away). Same thing with norexans, if they saw a neghvar coming they'd run away, then probably sneak into its wake and blow it to kingdom come  :lol:  

I am personaly a fan of the Krenim warship ( I think I have Said this Before) anyway It has an un-godly number of conventional weapons, and it has the whole temporal eraser thing, that and the wells class (both of these ships are from voyager ikkk) simply because the wells looks nice sleek and totally untraditional

Another favorite ship of mine is the galaxy, i have a thing for massive dreadnoughts, just the swan like grace of the hull and the impressive array of Type X phaser arrays.

i prefer the prometheus class

The Negh'var is the beast king!  It's nothing but shear hell in space.  Nothing can stand in its way!

The Norexan also looks good and the D'deridex IS a waste of space and the old-skool classic Enterpise Romulan Bird-of-prey

Oh c'mon people. Of course the Constitution Class Refit is the best. It's just sooo...beautiful. It's like a Swan. Graceful, large, powerful, and yet still very very pretty.

to me it looks old and blocky. the galixys is the best so for. the last ship jeen rodinbarry aproved.

The Galaxy is okay, but it seems too 80's for me. The Constitution is a little blocky, but that just enhances it. Just the right amount of bocks and curves.

well the 80's are in stily naw. and i dont see the 80s feel to it on the out side the brige and the inside has a 80s feel.

Connie refit is the best.

I don't know bout the constitution refit, it was a good looking ship granted but I just don't think coolest ship, now if there was ever a movies where it was actually working and not about to fall right out of the sky :lol:  

i have to say the connie refit is one of the most beautiful ships in the history of star trek.

I think the warbird is great.  It has cool weapon systems and great cloaking devices.  The armada game has the ship and a whole fleet of them are just spelling death for any oponent.

Emmm for me the best ship is the Dominion dreadgnought, its big, stronger than any on the list and beautiful :)

I also like the Negh'Var, its so beautiful and I belive it would destroy a norexan in an instant. If I am not mistaken the norexan was only shown in nemesis and in there it was destroyed fairly easily by the schimitar and now if u think how long the schimitar fired at the enterprise and it wasnt destroyed. It gets u thinking about that figures Cairo 1 showed ;)

My Favourite Ship is the Steamrunner Class!
I like it, it has a good shape and looks perfectly in company with Akira and Sabre Class Ships...

Oh and Baron, the Dom Dreadnaught may be the biggest, best armed, and most heavily armored ship in the Alpha Quadrant, but it's just so damn ugly  :P

Besides I wonder what would happen if you fired say 20 tricobalt torpedos at it and created a subspace rift ... wouldn't matter too much how armored it is.

As this was the only time this vessle was shown in ST u can only presume that the way it was in there, thats the way its supposed to be, and in the movie it died quickly, really quickly. Oh and one more thing in nemesis those 2 norexan WERE THE GOOD GUYS and they still died like in 5min, a strong ship indeed ;) :P

Oh it's so simple to think that because ships died quickly in the movies, that they must be weak ass. Sorry to burst your bubble, but no, they can easily hold their own against most ships in the galaxy. Only a moron would think that because they were easy pickings for the Scimitar, means that they are poor gunned, armored, and shielded. The real reason is the writers. Awww poor baron :cry:

Canon comes from tech manuals and the tech crews that work on making the shows, movies and also the designers who first make the ships on star trek, not from shows and movies.

Of course you know baron none of that is true, it's mere speculation, it's obviously off of the DITL which as we all know isn't quite right most of the time. Raw pwnage at it's finest :lol:  :P  

also any fed ship could beat a Dom. ship because the writters say so... :D

Yep it really is up to the writers what happens. I personally think it was unfortunate that the writers for Nemesis had the norexans get wasted so quickly, in "reality" two norexans plus the EE could have blown the scimitar into a million itty bitty pieces, but that wouldn't have made an exciting movie.

And Baron, 100 bugships would barely scratch the paint. The Tac Cube is 3 kilometers on a side man  :lol:  

Plus it would take out a dozen or so of them before they could ram, then theres also tractor beams.

Its really pointless to argue with you PD since anyone who is against u, u start insulting him and of course because most of the people here love romulans they back u up.  And plizz tell me in which manual it says the norexan is soooooo damn strong ;)

And just one more thing, if romulans are so strong and the best, why dont they have a bigger empire, why arent they considered as strong as the federation or the klingons.

A ship with 27 cubic kilometers would have millions of crew, but that's besides the point. The reason the Borg are so scary is because they are unbeatable. And that cube that "a few ships plus the EE blew up" had already been shot at for two or three days by the Typhon fleet, resulting in the loss of over 40 starfleet ships. I don't know how many more it blew up in Earth orbit. The outer hull (this is a paraphrase) was "heavily compromised" by the time the EE showed up. And that was a regular cube, no torps, no heavy external armor. I think if a tac cube showed up (let alone two) the Alpha quadrant combined couldn't do a thing about it.

Also some estimates state that a cube must be damaged more than 90% to halt its repair and regeneration process, so if you fight piecemeal like starfleet did you'll never kill it.

You cannot simply put a ship on a show or movie without making stats for it, so in theory, a manual could come out with a ship in it that you've never seen.  :rolleyes:

The Norexan cannot destroy a Scimitar or a Sovern, thats an easy thing for me to say. But you saying it is a weak ass ship is simply, wrong. It's not a weak ass ship, it has more guns then a D'deridex, it's simply just too weak to take on a Sovern with more advanced weapons or a Scimitar with a Norexans weapons squared.

Klingons and Romulans are fairly equal empire wise, Klingons have more ships but Romulan ships are of better quality, which makes them a draw in who has the better fleet.

And yes, the reason the Romulans are always getting blown up is writers, thanks for agreeing. :P  

Is it just me or are the Romulans too centralized? The Klingons have an adversarial tribal structure that necessitates each house having a large military component to act as a coast guard, or local constabulary. In national emergencies like the dom war these fleets can be called up, hence the huge destroyer to capital ship ratio we see compared to other races. The Romulans on the other hand have a small military made up of exclusively capital ships, geared seemingly to suppressing internal revolts and intimidating outsiders. And while their ships are high quality, I wouldn't give odds in a Nebula vs. D'deridex, and I know a Galaxy can easily defeat one. (Various TNG where E-D takes minimal damage, also VOY Prometheous)

I voted other, I like the Akira class beacuse of it's amazing manevears and awesome firepower. ^_^

Ill have to agree with all of you .The romulan ship,klingon and borg ships are cool makes me wonder how the hell the federation stays around with all that fire power

Very true about the writers and Picard, although the warbirds were eaten for lunch by voyager's writers in Prometheous, and eaten for lunch by the DS9 writers in the whole Dom war thing (only a handful of galaxies were lost, a huge proportion of warbirds were lost, but we've talked about that before). I'm not sure by what metric you claim they're equal ... if you're assaulting a planet the D'deridex is better, but they're barely in the same class in space combat.

Firepower and manuverability is how their fairly equal. Galaxy has more rear and side firing weapons while the D'deridex has cloak and slightly more armor.

Well... we know that tac cube aren't invulnarable, than again we shouldn't be sure they exsist just look at the source ;) but when it comes to addaption, the dominon are to stupid to start a battle with ramming tactics, against new species, that is a finishing move, and due to the fact the ship is small and weakly shielded (as compared with borg weponry) the entire fleet would be borg drones within the hour, bye bye dom

Every ship in star trek is a capital ship phaser...The Romulans have smaller amounts of powerful, durable ships. Thats it right there, undesputible...

It's always good to come in here and see someone whining about how this other race is so much better then the Romulans when their not, lol

A capital ship is technically a ship which no ship of inferior class has a hope of being victorious over. This distinction was blurred around WW 1 with the introduction of "battlecruisers" but these ships are still considered "capital" because most cruisers would get wasted fighting them. Typical ST battlecruisers in my opinion are Nebula, Vorcha, D'Deridex, MAYBE Keldon, probably not, Spheres perhaps, etc. Anything smaller is NOT a capital ship.  

Every ship not designated as a fighter or freighter is a capital ship, lol.  

ok, going to another direction of the topic...i think the sphere has the best tactical design, shields are always buble formed and and the sphere uses that form perfectly. also is it was equipped with a phaser array horizontally, it would have 360 degrees coverage

Agreed, I think a giant sphere would have worked better then a giant cube, basically switch both their sizes and roles and the Borg would have been more effective.

maybe its not even needed, and a possible "next stage" of their designs.
remember, there are different types of spheres. the sphere that act like shuttles or escape pods (seen in first contact). then the spheres of that type like 1000 drones on it (seen in the last episode of voyager the one that followed them) and the bigger ones with _40.000_ drones on it, seen i one episode of voyager with the borg queen.

so they got different sizes and strenghts.. :P

Edit: btw. its more effective actually. cause they need the space of the cubes for the ports of the drones. if i remember correctly the queen said once that they got 100.000 drones on a bigger cube. and u cant get that much on the same size of a sphere caused by the lack of needed space.

Or maybe there is a borg ship we haven't seen yet, a giant sphere with million if not billions on board.

If you remember an old ST game called 'The Final Unity' riker points out that a warbird is alot larger than a galaxy, and, in the cimamatic, the galaxy looked to be about half the size of the warbird.

Yes but D'deridex has alot of open space on board, and it actually is missing space from the middle, so while it looks real big it's realy not.

EDIT: Also, I don't know if this is true to the storyline, but the galaxy only carries photon torps and the warbird, adv. photon torps, also have to remember that the warbird has disrupters mounted on the wings.

Never heard of an advanced photon torpedo. It carries plasma torpedos but maybe some sort of photon torpedo also, most likely alot like the federations, like the klingons got.

Well, like I said, I didn't know if it was true to the storyline. I only remember hearing it from somewhere.

They have so called advanced photons in BC, which is full of screw ups. I think they called them that because saying 'AdvTorpedo' is shorter then saying 'Torpedo alot like the Federations except slightly redder and maybe a little less power'.

Um last time I checked the borg don't have phasers : ) but yes it makes more sense to have spherical ships, or at least ellipsoid ships if you're worried about geometric cross section to evade enemy fire or something.

I know it's that big but i'm talking mass, altogether it's not that much bigger then a Galaxy class.

I wonder how a Dominion dreadnought would hold out in a fight against such a ship.  The Borg aren't the only ones in the galaxy seeking perfection and order.

U really cant say as we never saw the dreadgnought in an actuall fight, we only saw pics of it :)

i think the borg combined with the jem hadar cloning stuff would be a devastating bunch of sh*t :lol:
cloning of drones instead of assimilating species to get them drones.. think about it.. and specially think about how fast the jem hadar act when they need their fighters. plus, the borg got a DNA pool which would be big enough to clone drones. horrible but fascinating :lol:

I think borg would win although jem'hadar throw up a good fight. There really shouldn't be a way to stop the borg contrary to popular belief, damn them writers.

besides, borg nanites can make a drom just by sampling dna. it happened in one of the episodes where the doctors emitter and seven's nanites fused. they took some tisue form a soldier and made a 24th century tech borg drone out of nothing

wow the new orleans is good design very sweet I looked it up at daystrom (http://www.ditl.org/). i thought it was a medical ship like the one beverly crusher had i a future time line of TNG.
