Title: Question About Leagality Of Images On Fo Post by: Fullphaser on December 14, 2004, 04:09:39 AM Hi all I have recenlty been what one may call a busy human being and getting all kinds of internetsy stuff set up but I was wondering about an Avatar thing. I have the following picutre under my own webspace and have been using it on other forums because it is considered public doamin there.
(http://fusionx2.com/upload/./userfiles/fullphaser/images2.jpg) that is the image I think that is the one of the Akira, anyway I was wondering if because of heavier affiliation with paramount if in this area that was no longer public domain. I am no expert on legality. Also I am blind and quite dumb. what is the policy on image links for any paticular site in the Sigs I looked for the rules but as some may have guessed those have dissapered :omg: atleast for just a sec. I didn't see them anyway I was wondering about the policy on that if it is considerd Advertising or what not Title: Question About Leagality Of Images On Fo Post by: RFO Cairo1 on December 15, 2004, 04:58:55 AM well the pic shood be fine
Title: Question About Leagality Of Images On Fo Post by: DOCa Cola on December 15, 2004, 07:02:04 PM good you have noticed the rules are gone.
the legally depends on the copyright disclaimer on every site what you are allowed to do and what not. theoretically you have to ask every author of an picture or content you use for authorisation on copyrighted sites (look for ©/copyright notice) but in general most ppl don't care. it depends on what you use the images for, if you use them to advertise the authors site i see no problem to use them and the other hand if you use them to create your own site based on an another site's design with this sites images or copied content it may lead to legal problems if the auther get noticed of the 'idea theft' (i call it that way).
