Title: Ship Targeting
Post by: Firesky124 on November 08, 2004, 01:16:38 AM
Someone may have already asked this but I noticed that in my game whenever a battle commences my ships always attack the same vessel in the enemies fleet instead of whichever ship is nearest to them or easiest for them to pick off. When they finish off the first ship then they all pick the same ship for thier next target and so on and so forth. They all attack the same ship even if some of them have to move into position to get a shot in. While they are moving in they are getting shot at by my enemy instead of attacking the ship nearest them. I was wondering if it was something wrong that I was doing or if this is how it is supposed to be. Sorry if this is a stupid question. :)

well, yea. that's armada2 :) we would love to get a combat behaivor like you described, but that seems to be impossible.. so we have to leave the "message to the fleet, target that vessel and fire" behaivor

Curses! It's especially frustrating when you have multiple capital ships wasting shots on destroyers or scouts. Very very frustrating.

At least it says ENEMY ENGAGED so you can rush and order your fleet to engage the capital ships. If I didn't say that we would all be screwed.
