Title: 3DS Max
Post by: Phoenix on May 20, 2003, 06:52:54 PM
I have a few models that are in a 3ds format. How can I use MS3D to open them. A friend of mine was working on a mod for A2, however has sent all production to me. Every Ship model was done with 3DS. I haven't been able to find any Eval. Software for 3DS. Is there a way to open them in MS3D.

Any help with this matter would be a great help.

Oh by the way for the creators of Fleet Ops, Great job!!

Hehe, thx :)
I think there are 3ds importers available, just do a google search.
But is a exporter for sod files available for ms3d?

[EDIT] Maybe this is something for you too, discreet has made a 'lite' version of 3ds for game edititing called gmax http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/ (http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/) and the best thing: it's free B)[/EDIT]

I'll check that out!

As far as the exporter for MS3D I think there is I remember downloading one at one time I'll check in my DLLs and be sure. If so would you like me to send it to you?

There is a SOD exporter for Milkshape.
I have a question. Is there a way to import SODs for 3ds or for Milkshape?

there is a tool available somewhere, but it's not very liked by modders, cause you can steal other peoples hard work with it. for what do you want to use it?
