Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: startrek4747 on August 30, 2004, 06:20:13 PM no, its all crap. is it any good???hell ya!!! 120 GB??? Pentium 4??? Hell, even the case sounds good:
Quote TURBO X INFINITY W/WIN (SILVER) W/350PS  Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: NCC1701Z on August 30, 2004, 06:42:07 PM Even my vid card is ok????
Yeah I love the case too, it shows the temperature of the insideo f the comp and has neon lights, I begged my dad to buy that case... Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: -=B!G=-The Black Baron on August 30, 2004, 07:04:49 PM I think it would be better if u would buy the next generation video card like the geforce 6800 or ATI x800, but that card is also good of course :D
And the hard disc are u planning to have S-ATA or ATA, cause it would be much better if u could buy a S-ATA its much faster and it isnt really that more expensive than the ATA and plus your motherboard already has the option for S-ATA discs B) Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: Sferimao on August 30, 2004, 07:53:19 PM I advise you to buy stronger power supply. 400W minimum.
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: -=B!G=-The Black Baron on August 30, 2004, 08:15:47 PM Oh yeah thats true I missed that, and I think that even more than 400W is a must especially if that case has alot of neons and stuff, and plus that video card needs its own supply,....
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: KL0K on August 30, 2004, 08:25:06 PM hm, well it should be enough... but i would say... take a tagan 380W dual fan... well... the graphicscard... i would say... take a 9600 xt.. its nearly the same card, but with a bit more mhz.. for 40$ more than the 9550.. or you can buy my 9500pro for the same price :D
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: NCC1701Z on August 30, 2004, 08:29:04 PM Whats good about having a good power supplier?
I thinkt his perso who graduated collage siad that its fine with the power supplier Im having now....not sure but u guys' opinions count a lot to me :) just to let you know.. Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: Sferimao on August 30, 2004, 08:38:10 PM Well, I also study electronics and computer science at university so I am quite capable to give advices in this topics. Good power supply (strong and good voltage stability) will give you stability of the whole system. Motherboards usualy need 250W to function but with new upgrades and components that number is getting higher.
Plus hard disks, CD-ROMS, DVD-s, all draw energy directly from power supply not through motherboard. Processor usualy need 60-80 W but if it's doing some big job he'll draw more. That's way you need more supply power for at least 100W or more and it's not that expensive. Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: NCC1701Z on August 30, 2004, 08:50:10 PM So you are advising me to get a power supplier of 400w plus? damn.. I already ordred the computer.. is there any way to replace it myself..?
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: Sferimao on August 30, 2004, 08:54:56 PM Sure, it's very easy, but first try this one. In time you'll have to change it, because with time power supply output is lower.
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: NCC1701Z on August 31, 2004, 02:56:50 PM Ah.. thanks, the guy whos assembing my comp said Im fine as long as I dont turn onm the PC for more tahn 24 hours.
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: KL0K on August 31, 2004, 04:02:48 PM lol, my comp is running 24/7.. and i got a bad powersupply... but just till the next days, cause i ordered a new and better one... the same i said above: tagan 380 dual fan :D
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: NCC1701Z on August 31, 2004, 04:54:53 PM Myold comp ahs never been on for more than 5 hrs and the same iwll apply for my new one :)
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: -=B!G=-The Black Baron on August 31, 2004, 05:56:51 PM My comp also runs 24/7, and I have 430W power supply B)
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: Lt.Cdr.White on August 31, 2004, 06:10:12 PM My PIII regularly runs 12 hours almost every day. And I think I have under 300W. :D I did this for about 3 years now. No problems.
Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: Sferimao on August 31, 2004, 09:43:15 PM I had AMd Athlon 850 with 350W. After 2 years i saw some instability in power supply like one of hard disk would randomly power off itself. Later I bought Tv Tuner, and when I started recording I would get some heavy noise in recorded signal. Finaly I discovered that my power supply is not functioning well because i realy exausted it.
Now I have AMD Xp 2500+ and 500W power. Everything is without problem. I advise more power then realy needed (that your PC actualy uses about 70% of maximum power) because if you realy need all 100% of maximum power the power supply unit will eventualy break. Title: My New Computer Specs Post by: NieKnight on August 31, 2004, 11:58:35 PM i advise a p12 processor i have like a hundread from my last time shift, currently selling them at £15,000 each, also trhey come out in the yr 2015 :P
